Seeking Latine performers, especially trans & gender non-conforming folks, local to Philadelphia or surrounding areas for a developmental reading of a new work. ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS ARE WELCOME as long as you are ready to come learn and play! If you have experience in drag, dance, poetry, or other art but not acting, we’d love to hear from you.
Play Summary: In a dystopian near-future, young trans activist Valentina leads a protest at the top of Machu Picchu, Peru, trapping her tour-guide uncle and two American tourists at the top of the mountain. Meanwhile, centuries earlier during the Inca Empire, a third-gender oracle and her apprentice predict the future destruction of their civilization and work to secure their future. As both timelines approach their apocalypse, they look to each other for answers and a shared hope of survival.
Track 1
Future: VALENTINA — A young trans girl living in Cusco, Peru. Insists on hope.
Past: SUNQU — An ambitious apprentice to Qhawaq, the Inca Emperor’s oracle. Extremely eager to problem-solve.

Track 2
Future: JESSICA — A US-born transfem Latina tourist, on vacation in Peru. Insecure in her connection to her culture, but well into her transition.
Past: QHAWAQ — An oracle of the Inca Empire who has frequent visions of the future. Observant and precise. Mentor to Sunqu.
Track 3
Future: TITO — Uncle to Valentina. A Cusco tour guide weathered from a lifetime of labor.
Past: UKUMARI — A high-ranking, high-strung Inca politician.
