Two-time First Person Arts StorySlam Champion Anjoli Santiago will facilitate the course to help participants identify the threads within the tapestry of their own stories. Co-creating the container, participants will write tales through three lenses: first-person, cinematic world-building, and magical realism.

The course will close with a collaborative showcase, celebrating the individual themes and collective chorus in our tale of belonging.

In 2019, Power Street Theatre launched free bilingual adult theater classes at West Kensington Ministry, funded by The Bartol Foundation and The Resist Foundation. Taught in English and Spanish by Gabriela Sanchez and Erlina Ortiz, the program invited adults to explore experimental theater and playwriting.

Designed to help participants reconnect with creativity, the classes built confidence, encouraged collaboration, and empowered community members to share their voices through art.

The program was inspired by the lack of opportunity to escape daily life that happens naturally as we get older - we envisioned this program as an opportunity for adults to return to imagination and play.
