Land
&
Body
Free bilingual adult artistic courses rooted in community, creativity, and the power of your story.
Art as a way back
to yourself.
In 2019, Power Street Theatre launched free bilingual adult theater classes at West Kensington Ministry, funded by The Bartol Foundation and The Resist Foundation.
Taught in English and Spanish, the program was inspired by the lack of opportunity to escape daily life that happens naturally as we get older. We envisioned Land & Body as an opportunity for adults to return to imagination and play — building confidence, collaborating with neighbors, and learning skills to share their voices.
The program is seasonal and contingent on funding. We've offered courses in the fall, spring, and summer with community partners in North and West Philadelphia. Every session is free to the public, first come first served.
