Inspiring stories. Innovative voices.
DUE TO COVID-19
Follow the yellow brick road - down to Emerald Street where King Oz is stuck in a fever dream. You realize this isn’t somewhere over the rainbow, this is the land of Oz right here in your own neighborhood. Developed by artists and community residents, Kiss of Addixion brings to life stories of opioid dependency from North Philadelphia residents. Journey through different perspectives to investigate the complexities of substance abuse and the consequences of health injustice.
This is theater that is urgent, necessary, and beautiful. Growing up in West Philly, with much family in North Philly, I had no idea theater existed in Philadelphia. Theaters didn’t put up posters in our neighborhood. Theater wasn’t “for us.” We weren’t invited to the table. Power Street is building a new table. One Philly--and this nation--desperately needs."
