POWER STREET THEATRE
PST was not founded to just be a theatre company- we were founded with a bigger purpose, founded to create meaningful change in the theatre world and within diverse communities. We believe theatre has the ability to transform lives, redefine spaces, preserve diverse stories, and mobilize people to gather from all walks of life.
This is theater that is urgent, necessary, and beautiful. Growing up in West Philly, with much family in North Philly, I had no idea theater existed in Philadelphia. Theaters didn’t put up posters in our neighborhood. Theater wasn’t “for us.” We weren’t invited to the table. Power Street is building a new table. One Philly--and this nation--desperately needs."
- Quiara Alegría Hudes, Playwright & Pulitzer Prize Winner
Power Street thrives with the continued support of our community. Artists are being hit very hard right now. If you have extra funds, please know your donation directly support our artists and programming!
